Empowering Banks with Advanced Financial Messaging Automation
Modernise your financial messaging with Aqua’s advanced, flexible and quick to deploy Messaging hub that centralises and automates financial message processing across Swift (FIN and MX), local clearing, bespoke formats and electronic banking.
The messaging hub simplifies message processing while enhancing control, efficiency, and regulatory alignment to meet the complex demands of today’s banking industry.
Automated Message Routing
Inbound and outbound messages are automatically queued and typically routed to a specific department based on the receiving institution ( entity), message type and any of the message content such as sender, currency sub-service (e.g. TARGET2 etc.). Each message will be assigned a state, status and optional sub-status that can be used to initiate workflow processes.
Message Orchestration
New messages or changes to the state, status and sub-status of messages allows the orchestration layer to automatically initiate workflows to control any processing that the institution requires.
Error & Incident Handling
Aquila can detect many different types of exception and can adapt to new or evolving requirements by configuration.
Aquila supports highly flexible incident management processing to highlight and control the status of exceptions following predefined resolution paths. This includes granular control over every action for individual users to ensure full “4-eyes” compliance at each step.
Escalation paths based on no user action for a specific period of time is also available.
Real-Time Tracking & Management
User dashboards are available to monitor message flow by message type, currency and the message status, sub-status and booking status at a glance. This allows users to see what has been done, what is still outstanding and what specific exceptions such as duplicate messages, restricted currencies/countries and sanctions problems by way of example. Sophisticated search facilities and filtering allows users to pinpoint specific messages quickly and easily.
Native ISO 20022 processing
Aquila’s Messaging Hub supports ISO 20022 as well as Swift ISO 15022 (FIN), Most financial institutions will rely on supporting both these Swift standards for some years and our solution can consume or produce either format based on business requirements
No-code Business Intelligence
This technology allows a fine degree of control over the processing and manipulation of transactions. This configurable interface provides the ability to easily add new message formats and accommodate new business logic without the need for extensive re-engineering.
Message Standards
Changes to industry standard messages are supported by Aqua Global with updates typically released at least four months prior to the golive date. These can be applied in advance of the standards coming into effect and are adopted automatically

Frequently Asked Questions related to the Messaging Hub
What is a financial messaging hub?
A financial messaging hub is a central platform that automates the processing of inbound and outbound financial messages across SWIFT FIN, ISO 20022 (MX), local clearing and bespoke formats. It gives a bank a single point of control over its message flows, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Can the Messaging Hub process ISO 20022 messages?
Yes, the Messaging Hub natively supports ISO 20022 (MX) alongside SWIFT ISO 15022 (FIN) and other formats. A bank can consume or produce either standard based on business requirements, which allows the two to run in parallel throughout the coexistence period.
How does the Messaging Hub improve message orchestration?
The hub automatically queues and routes each message using rules such as sender, currency, entity or message type, then assigns a state and status that can trigger the appropriate workflow. This gives operations teams real time visibility and automated control across the whole message flow.
Does the Messaging Hub support exception and incident handling?
Yes, it provides flexible incident and exception management with configurable resolution paths, escalation rules and full audit logging. Granular user controls support four eyes compliance at every step, so problems are resolved in a controlled and traceable way.
Does Aqua Global support 24/7?
Yes, Aqua Global offers 24/7 processing and support. Message standards updates are typically delivered at least four months before an industry go live date and applied automatically, so banks stay current without a software upgrade.
